Not to mention - you take out a mortgage so you have a nice home to live in
and
You borrow to get an education because that pays dividends down the road
and
Not to fucking mention that when the government is borrowing, whether it’s a local bond issue for a water treatment plant or a treasury bill sale to pay for a Navy, it is borrowing from us - and paying us interest all the while it is paying us to build these things.
Not the mention, after all that we get to have those water treatment plants and a Navy and all the rest. All the trappings of a nice country to live in.

And of course, the fundamental “not to mention”:
If you or I (or Joe and Jane Citizen out there in The Heartland) have trouble meeting the monthly bills, WE can’t just log onto printupthefuckingmoney.com, and run off a few thou to keep the creditors at bay.
And the government can….
