Walmart: Signpost of the Idiocracy.

Total FAIL at Walmart pickup. I placed a 50 dollar order today, with pickup between 7 and 8pm. I got two emails claiming that they had received the order and were getting it ready. I arrived at the store at 7, and waited for half an hour for the email telling me the order was ready. It never came. Instead, a distraught, harried young woman was making her way through the pickup parking area and finally reached me. She checked my order number, then told me that their in-store system had no record of that order, it had not in fact been picked, and that all the orders they did have had already gone out. She also indicated that this had happened a number of times today and she had personally had a very rough time explaining to irate customers that the orders they had driven into and across town to pick up were not ready and in fact did not exist. I was ready to explode but I felt very sorry for the girl and was as polite and conciliatory as possible. They could not help with a refund and in-store customer service, as usual, had masses of zombies and yokels camped out in front of their counter and I would have been there till 3AM waiting Soviet style for my turn at the counter.
I called the national customer service department (the nation being India), which naturally does not have a live person available. They eventually did call back and agreed to the refund. It will take 24 to 48 19th century-style Texas banking hours to get my refund, during which the 50 bucks is not available to, say, buy groceries somewhere else. That is okay for me but what if that had been the only 50 dollars I had for groceries, which is the case with many of this zombie-infested Idiocrat hell-merchant’s customers? They did give me a 20 dollar coupon for my next Walmart Grocery order, which WILL NOT HAPPEN BEFORE THE HEAT DEATH OF THE UNIVERSE!
