Like I said, I think Trump will leave anyone who doesn’t have his last name out to dry (even Jared). But it is entirely possible that if it looks like the Senate trial is going to go against him, he just holes up and starts signing pardons until the verdict is rendered and Pence is sworn in. And those pardons could be done irrespective of whether a conviction has happened or not.

if the senate trial is going against him, everyone’s testified, or admitted, or something

wild ass pardoning is a hell of an admission

and if he pardons everyone involved in this conspiracy we’re back to “can a president pardon himself and/or other people involved in a (criminal) conspiracy with him”

and further, if more info comes out re Russian and 2016 and any trump involvement - ie mueller et al, then the question becomes ‘can a president use the pardon power to pardon himself for crimes committed to gain the office and the pardon power”

my head hurts just thinking about it
