That’s quite possible - that some captured or turned evidence on the others were picked up to maintain appearances. It’s certainly not unheard of. All the intel that has been picked up recently leads to still more intel and it’s a positive feedback loop.

The real difference has been that Pakistan is getting serious in dealing with the Taliban and al Qaeda in its midst. The ISI and government had looked the other way for far too long, and it threatened the government directly; that’s apparently changed, but the key remains whether the current efforts are a temporary measure or part of a sea-change in Pakistani policy towards the Taliban and al Qaeda particularly in the frontier provinces.
