According to his contemporaries, Lincoln had a high tenor voice (as did Teddy Roosevelt, who’s own voice is on record).
But anyway, perhaps Waterston was chosen because of his height? ;-)
I think it’s because he sounds presidential. Lincoln also reportedly sounded a bit country. Wonder if there’s any recording of his son but Robert Lincoln was Ivy League educated so probably sounded much different than his dad.
