Pascal’s wager fails because it’s not really the binary they see. Choosing to believe in THEIR got puts me at odds with somebody else’s god. So, it’s not Either/Or. It’s Either/Or/Or/Or/Or/Or ad infinitum.
But every believer I’ve ever spoken to sees it as HIS god, or no god.
1) Pascal thought up the wager because he couldn’t find any other reason to believe in a god.
2) The binary thing fails at once in our century. In 17th century Europe, not so much.
