I’m assuming she means convicted in both cases, because the Senate doesn’t impeach (I hope Sarah knows that because that makes the rest of her argument weak.) But, if he is convicted, it doesn’t matter if he wants to leave, he can be dragged out with handcuffs.
Of course she knows (and one verbal slip certainly doesn’t invalidate the principle of her argument - that, at a bare minimum, impeachment hearings are needed). And Katie Porter, a moderate Dem who got elected in a GOPer district, shows what needs to be done:

(and initiating a hearing as opposed to yesterday’s failed vote would’ve been far more effective politically, though of course I have the horrible feeling too many bluedog dems are looking for excuses to skip even that step)
