well Steny would need votes, I have a hard time believing that the influx of new Dem reps would flock to him…. As much as I would endorse Ted Lieu, by putting him in the line of succession, that may disqualify him due to his citizenship status… Perhaps someone like Karen Bass? In that respect, I’m not sure who would have enough cred to be acceptable to a lot of younger representatives. Nonna Nancy has been instructing the younguns on how to play the game and STILL the most important lesson is to be able to count noses and not demand what you don’t have votes for.

On Lieu and citizenship, it would just skip him and make the Senate President Pro Tem the next one in line (which would be Leahy if Dems take back the Senate). Which as a side note: really shouldn’t be the title given to the longest serving Senator in the majority but to the majority leader.
