OK, now you guys are driving me nuts. What was the real intent of planegate.?

I can imagine some PR/ permanent campaign types looking at stock photos of Air Force One taken four or eight or twelve years ago and saying, “Lame! We need new photois. How about an Air Force One flyby of the Statue of Liberty?”
And it went downhill from there.
