And speaking of the most recent Star Trek movie:

Of course, it wouldn’t be Star Trek without a gaping plot hole or two or four. So, the Starfleet Academy juniors have to warp into action because “we have a distress call from Vulcan, reporting some sort of seismic anomaly.” Now, leaving aside the question of why the ENTIRE fleet is elsewhere, leaving only the kids behind to, oh, I dunno, protect Earth… a “seismic anomaly”? Did the Vulcans just not notice the garguantuan starship drilling a hole in their planet?!

Ok, no more spoilers please, I haven’t seen the movie yet.
