Okay, I want to be able enjoy my niece’s childhood. She’s gonna be 16 in 2030. Crazy to think about.

I expect bigger changes between 2016 and 2032 than we’ve seen between 2000 and 2016.

The last 16 years in the US has been strongly affected by 9/11. That and the Iraq war shaped our international relationships and our economy.

I have no idea if a major conflict will break out in the next 16 years.

We have a good chance to see the first summer without Arctic sea ice by then, though.

SS will need to be changed before then too, as 2032 is right in the window where big things have to happen to keep the balance books balanced. So for those of us who are still alive and retired the early 2030’s become very important as far as the politics of retirement.
