According to her fundraising site, she is concerned about the integrity of the vote. She cites both the statisticians that questioned accepting it without a recount, and the fact Wisconsin’s voting machinery in particular is banned in California for vulnerabilities that have not been fixed.

She is doing something that would be awkward for Hillary Clinton to do. If Mrs. Clinton called for a recount, there would be a hue-and-cry of “sour grapes” from the right (regardless of the notion it is Mrs. Clinton’s right to request a recount if she so desires).

If Dr. Stein calls for a recount, Mrs. Clinton is in the clear on that (though Mrs. Clinton probably did not ask her to do it).
