Flynn did sell his country out; his behavior toward Russia was treasonous; but I object to applying the word “treason” to his illegal, immoral actions on behalf of Turkey. Turkey is still an ally of ours and treason should be reserved for assistance to enemies, such as Russia.

Flynn was aiding the attempt to deliver Gulen to Erdogan, and these days Erdogan is in the mood to kill people he can’t satisfactorily imprison. The word ‘treason’ may not fit the crime, but the word that would fit wouldn’t be any better.
