Can you imagine the shitstorm here if a GOP senator PHYSICALLY crossed sides to join the Dems in the middle of a Senate debate? The nutjobs would be blaming Clinton and the deep state by lunchtime.

Well, the biggest difference is that presidents don’t have to fear no-confidence votes and can’t call snap elections when the polls are in their favor. The fact that we have elections every four years guaranteed by the Constitution gives rise to the assumption that if you don’t like the way things are being run, you can just wait things out until the next election. And if things don’t change in that election, well then not enough people agree with you that things are shit.
