I’m not sure why anyone who is not “saved” in the Evangelical sense would go to a three-day Christian event in the first place, and they didn’t name or show who she is.

Honestly speaking, there are a lot of hurting people in the world, and Christianity - or religion in general, really - tries to offer some hope that pain is temporary and that there’s something better in our future. Regardless of whether that’s actually true or not, some people who are in a really bad place find appeal in that.
