A lesser known fact about that particular theater of war is that the Italian troops assigned to Yugoslavia committed their share of ‘reprisal’ murder as well, sometimes executing dozens at a time. Unlike the Germans, though, the Italians did not specifically target Jews. But they were ruthless enough as it was.
