Correct, just as the right pretends to be concerned about homophobia in the Muslim community. Tehre’s nothing wrong with pointing that out but when you ignore the role of Christianity in promoting state sanctioned homophobic policies in places like Uganda, hel lyeah I’m gonna call you on it.

And to be honest, there is just as much of a problem within certain segments of the left who are hesitant to call out Muslim homophobia for fear of being labelled Islamophobic. But the fear of weaponization by your opponents should never detract from doing the morally right thing.

When lives are at stake due to homophobia, you can say “The hell with weaponization” and do what you have to do in order to initiate change.
