It’s also impossible to report intelligently on US politics while studiously ignoring the essential fact of US politics — i.e., that the Republican party has become a shithole full of bigoted, racist willfully stupid cranks who are led by the likes of Fox News and hate radio according to directives set by rich psychopaths such as the Mercers and the Koch brothers.
