I’m not saying Ocasio should have stiff-armed Tulsi’s tweet but she needs to realize that A.) Her win was an extreme outlier and is getting all this attention precisely because socialists have NOT been winning many primaries this year, and B.) these particular allies are divisive and self-serving mendacious fuckers who did nothing to support her candidacy and undermine Democrats at almost every opportunity. Bernie didn’t endorse her, Tulsi didn’t endorse her, these assholes are just hitching their wagons to her now because she won and by beating a high ranking incumbent and being one of the only socialists to win instantly became a national story. Fuck, her opponent in the primary, the Democratic primary Rep she defeated, has already done far more to booster her not only in immediately conceding (in contrast to how Bernie refused to concede to Hillary for months) and by praising her and pledging to do everything in his power to support her campaign.

Ocasio really doesn’t understand that her victory was solely because of extremely low turnout in the district; the voters assumed Crowley would win and didn’t turn out. It was fortunate that she is poised, intelligent, and already a skilled politician, though naive. But this could have equally happened with a candidate whose views were totally antithetical to Democratic ideology.
