His WWII leadership was admirable but aside I’m not an admirer at all of Churchill overall.
Churchill was for his day much like Blair was for ours: He was a well-spoken man, a great orator who could inspire people to do great things. But as a leader, his abilities were at best wanting and at worst detrimental to the health of his nation. Amusingly, like Tony in the modern day, he was also known for excuse-making about his own flaws while exaggerating those of his successors/opponents to overshadow his own.
