If you’re willing to accept the occasional human sacrifice (okay, more than occasional. but.)… the Aztecs had tequila, cocaine, chocolate, popcorn, and indoor plumbing. Not much winter in most of their territory, they could dress in feathers. And a game very much like basketball (except that if your team lost they were killed. but MOTIVATION!)
