I have taught about 15,000 hours of language lessons over the last 20 years. I would admit to subversively injecting left-of-center politics and love for baseball and soccer into my work, but never once religion. I would not like what you describe one bit.

Nothing subversive here, its a straight up religious based lesson plan.

I just talked to the kids and my wife, stressing to learn the language, be respectful of the teacher, and that the stories are just make believe. I’ll be keeping a much closer eye on what they’re reading.

On the bright side, so far, they’ve used their Japanese language skills to read Helsing, Bleach, and DeathNote in the original Japanese, and watching anime without English dubbing or subtitles.
