If Trump goes to Congress for an AUMF, Republicans will crow about how manly and assertive he is as CinC, completely ignoring Obama’s AUMF request from a couple years back that they didn’t ever even vote on because, as one said, if they gave it to him they weren’t sure he’d use it.

I’m honestly curious how the GOP would react. I could see the Freedom Caucus opposing it without full repeal of the ACA (that’s only half a joke). I could see McCain, Graham, and maybe a couple of more Senators voting no because they don’t trust Trump to act pursuant to the laws of war, thus subjecting our troops to even greater danger.
