“Identity Politics” - for the Left, it means all those groups long denied a voice, marginalized, made to feel inferior get treated fairly.

For the Right, it means all those groups long denied a voice, marginalized, and made to feel inferior are still denied a voice, marginalized, and made to feel inferior.

Racial profiling is the Right’s idea of Identity Politics. The Muslim Ban is the Right’s idea of Identity Politics. Mass deportation is the Right’s idea of Identity Politics. Voter suppression is the Right’s idea of Identity Politics. Stop and Frisk is the Right’s idea of Identity Politics.

So, yeah, fuck THAT identity politics. But the one where we stop treating Americans like shit because their identity is other than straight, white, Christian, and male? Nah. we need to keep at that a while.
