Anyhow one thing I notice is they accuse liberals of looking down on them but tbh I see plenty of disdain towards urban folks. Remember Brooks condescending article about the New Yorkers and the Italian deli. The constant implication that urban America isn’t “real America.” I’ve never lived urban and in fact live suburban-rural but I’d be lying to you if I said there wasn’t a culture of disdain towards city dwellers in this culture that at least goes back to the push for Prohibition.
