Obama was fairly fiscally conservative compared to all the recent republicans. Compared to the last previous preznit who managed to leave the government with money (Clinton) he was on par, I think.

The thing fiscal conservatives should see is some of the most fiscally conservative Presidents were Dems. And the relative few Republican ones like Ford and HW Bush were despised by conservatives. Reagan, W Bush, & Trump are all anything but models of fiscal responsibility.
