You’re entitled to your opinion, but Ellis wants Manafort free. He’s hanging the prosecution out to dry with standards he apparently is holding the defense to. I am sick of hearing this “Oh, he’s just a cranky old man” bullshit defense of this guy.

I agree with whoever up above said he caught wind of the press coverage. I mean, for fuck’s sake, Fox News criticized a conservative judge. That’s probably what made hime eat his hat this morning.

Ellis is a preview of what a Trump-shaped judiciary is going to look like.

Except all commentary from actual experts I’ve seen on the judge is basically that the judge knows the prosecution has Manafort dead to rights and the judge wants to make sure the prosecution doesn’t make stupid mistakes that will open up an avenue for a successful appeal. Judges don’t like to have their cases over turned on appeal so when there is a slam dunk case such as this they want to make sure it stays that way.
