There have been complaints about medical trials in the past over explicitly excluding people with medical risks, the argument being medical risks compound the data. That argument is also used to exclude women who are fertile in general from trials, except the risk there is it could complicate a pregnancy and the company doesn’t want to get sued.

Uhh…They’re giving a placebo to a big chunk of people who are by definition ignoring the CDC guidelines.
