There is a social component to labor: it should be uplifting in the sense that it allows families to provide a better life for themselves and their children.

But that only gets lip service from the Right Wing in favor of “Personal Freedom” to negotiate as individuals with limited resources for terms of employment, insurance coverge and financial services with multi-million/billion-dollar international corporations.

If only there were some way for those individuals to bargain collectively for their own interests.
