Right under the title it says ‘The ex-cop was a product of a society gone mad on racism and war — and a state that aggressively punishes dissent’. The entire article seems find any excuse to find a reason for his actions and fails to call him what he is - a cold blooded killer.

I’m not a big fan of Charles Blow but I think his NYT editorial is spot on
