I happen to think that charges of sedition or treason can easily be brushed aside. Trump and the Trumplets just have to argue that they sincerely believed the country would be saved by their ascendance, and that any Russian involvement was incidental and had no bearing on their campaign. Further, it just reeks of a political prosecution. Racketeering on the other hand, is just a straight criminal investigation.
