I get why they took this slant but it’s still fucked up. And this poor guy will be in the spotlight now forever. He’ll always be the ex-con who continues to make good or falls back into his old ways.
I just think it’s fucked up.
I agree that the headline sucks, but the response to his act of bravery has been great. Last time I looked (last night) a gofundme account had already raised $28,000 for him and he’d been offered several jobs as well as a suit for job interviews and other stuff.
From the interviews I’ve seen, he sounds like a great guy and a perfect example of how rehabilitation can work in prison.
