He and Chewie, both Malamutes… Total and complete opposites personality wise. Chewie was a complete goofball and loved everyone universally. Even other dogs. He was well-behaved but had many moments of mischief.

Bear? He was a super-serious hardass that wasn’t fond of other dogs, and weary of strangers. But he was even better behaved (ie calmer) than Chewie. Bear could have never been left off leash outside if even for a second or he would have been gone. Even in my yard with a 6’ fence. You could tell he was a stray, while Chewie never had to fend for himself in his life (he was an owner turn-in due to a divorce apparently). lol

malamutes are one of my favorite breeds to look at
alas florida’s not really their climate (nor is mrs dm up for the idea)

my dream would be a basenji rescue
alas mrs dm not up for the idea of a hyperactive dog anywhere near her two cat loves.
plus i do believe our house would be destroyed in a day or two max
