Finally getting around to commenting on this. As a veteran, a former police officer, AND a former teacher, I cannot find the words to express how disgusted I am at this. This guy had been on the payroll, toting a gun, for 33 years. The one time in all those years that it really counted, he decided to run away and hide. His salary was around 80K and his pension will be 75% of that.

I also see that local police are guarding his home 24/7 because of numerous death threats. What if those “good guys with guns” are also abject cowards?

i dont think teachers are cowards.

nor do i think a teacher with a concealed handgun (cause thats all they could carry) will be running towards the line of fire of an (or multiple) ar-15 (or whatever)
