What’s depressing about this isn’t that a hate-monger like Liz Cheney would take two words out of context and twist them 180 degrees to smear Rashida Tlaib. That we’ve come to expect. What’s depressing is that she knows the smear will be amplified by the media, and she’s right.

She wears a headscarf, therefore, the words they expect to come out of her mouth are shouts of “Jihad!” and “Allahu Akhbar!” and that is all they are going to hear.
