Greenwald does acknowledge that Miranda was offered one of the govt’s lawyers but refused. The Guardian article doesn’t make it clear if the lawyer present of the last hour was Miranda’s lawyer or the governments. If the latter, I think he has a point. Providing a lawyer the government approves of is not the same as providing someone with a lawyer they want. This is obvious in how Miranda’s lawyer eventually won an injunction against using the seized data, something the govt lawyer might not have done.
