I don’t see how Congress is getting stuck with a hot potato here. The whole reason DACA exists is that Congress is incapable of dealing sensibly with immigration.

So a good president (Obama) does what good he can via executive action, and an evil president (tr*mp) does what evil he can via executive action.

congress can’t do anything to help immigrants bc it’s tops on the list of things the rank and file will punish it for. yet the real owners of the gop, large corporations, really want immigration reform, or as the wingnuts call it, “amnesty”

obama took off some part of the pressure with daca. the gop could bitch at a democrat for doing something that secretly they really wanted to do

but yet again trump blows their cover and calls their bluff. now they either have to really piss off their base or suffer the consequences of massive disruption of business
