The favorite wingnut meme for Detroit shows the ruins of the old Packard plant…which closed in 1958! (A Republican was Mayor then. He was convicted of corruption & went to the slammer)

When Mrs. FBW was young, she managed to convince her Dad that she knew cars, because whenever he’d ask, “What kind of car is that?”, she’d answer correctly.

Here’s the thing - her Dad ONLY ever asked that when he saw a Packard. So she’d say “Packard!”, and of course she was right.

When we watch old movies together, I keep my eye out for Packards, and whenever I see one, I ask “What kind of car is that?” She’s always right!
