Jesus, even in Japan drugs still trickle through eh?

kakuseizai (meth) is the biggest problem, I think. It’s favored by truck drivers and young women on diets, but it seems like once a year some celebrity gets caught, too. When I was there for research in 2002 they were just closing a loophole that had allowed most fungi to be sold because psylocybin (sp?) was just getting popular and was legal. I could have had a couple of trips in Shimo Kitazawa, but I was just married with a baby, and, well…. I’ve also been offered weed by close friends, but again, not something you want to be caught doing there, so no.

So as always, alcohol is the drug of choice in Japan.
