Thing is, Busey has always been primarily a character actor and has been for a long time (back to his first credited role in 1971, but he also had a couple of uncredited roles back to 1967), but the “good” roles in high-profile movies have been far and few between since his 1988 wreck (Lethal Weapon was the year before in 1987, and Predator 2, Point Break, and Under Siege were within just a few years of his accident). Since Under Siege, he’s done a lot of crap, with some bit parts in a few notable movies (Black Sheep, Lost Highway, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas)
