fixing roads might be construed as putting people back to work, rather than creating new jobs that generate new wealth…that’s the reason for the ambiguous, impossible to prove, ‘jobs saved’…that means nothing

What we want is old jobs, creating new wealth. The kind of thing they do better everywhere else.

I don’t buy that they always do it cheaper. They are just better capitalists, with slightly longer horizons. Any fool can be cheaper when they eliminate the competition. Cheaper than who?

Ever bought a TV made in the USA? Ever bought a coffee cup not made in Chine (and shipped a gazillion miles to get to Wallmart to be sold for $0.50)? Ever bought a wind turbine not made in little old Denmark?

We will always need roads, and we will need to maintain them forever.
