Absolutely. They had 23s, 37s, and 57s (including the tracked twin), around An Loc during the siege. We came under fire from them quite a few times in the air, but this incident happened on the ground.

The 57mm was very scary because it fired big (6 lb.) proximity fused rounds. It looked for all the world like the flak in newsreels from WW2. It was designed to shoot down low-flying B-52s and the like and we were clomping around in Hueys, which were flying beer cans by comparison. Fortunately, it had a very bright and distinctive muzzle flash that was a magnet for every fixed wing asset within several miles.
Bad news while they lasted, though.
