Most homeowners don’t own their houses outright. A few years ago, I actually crossed a line where I earned enough I could no longer get any benefit from the mortgage interest deduction but there are a lot of people that the deduction is what allows them to have a home. Republicans are going to tank a major segment of the economy if they do that.

I bet they slap that idea down hard. Too close to the hearts of their districts.
