I don’t know about “left-leaning people,” but the overwhelming majority of Democrats are Christians.

It’s amazing how conservative propaganda (Democrats hate religion) seeps even into conversations on the left.

There was a study somewhere (linked here, maybe?) that some 55% of Democrats identify strongly as Christians. But no, “Progressive” is a code word for “does not believe in God”.
