Only once in our history has a candidate received a majority of the votes and lost. That was 1876 when Tilden was denied the presidency over Hayes. Probably for the better, given how Tilden likely would have been more extreme with the elimination of Northern rule and the establishment of Jim Crow.

It is just utterly sickening to see today’s GOP looking to rule in today’s America the same way Democrats did 70 to 125 years ago. Yeah, my party is no longer the one of Wilson. But the GOP long has ceased to the be the party of Lincoln.

If Lincoln were alive today and saw what the GOP was doing in his name, he would never stop throwing up.

I just so fear we are going the way of Turkey, Hungary, and Poland.
