Um, I don’t see how this is necessarily worse than that scene in The Jerk where the guy juggles GENUINE FOR-REAL CATS. Or perhaps worse, the scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, where they catapulted an ACTUAL LIVE COW over the walls of a castle, fatally crushing to death an extra who was playing one of Sir Robin’s servants.

It’s the intent really, in your examples there was an intent to entertain and amuse through absurdity, Beck is using this shtick as political commentary expecting to be taken seriously.

But then again… trying to understand the intent of a madman is futile.
