He’s very alien to me. I admire the writing, and the passion. But on so many points, he’s simply so culturally distant that I can barely make him out.

Jefferson used to be my favorite FF, but after some reading, I’ve really become more of an Adams fan. It’s hard to justify his pissing all over the Constitution with the Alien and Sedition Acts, but his legacy is so much more complex. From defending the British troops charged in the Boston Massacre to preventing a war with France and everything in between, Adams has lots of really interesting and commendable achievements that too often get overlooked.
