Should note the number of French troops causing this major turmoil amongst the nutcases in Mali are just 2,500 Troops.

By way of Comparison, our smallest deployments recently (Haiti & Japan after their Earthquakes) were 16,000 troops and 24,000 troops respectfully.

A single regiment is carving through the nutcases like a knife through butter. The total number of troops from everyone is just 23,500. Much smaller than the Force in Afghanistan. Probably not even a third its size.

Like I said, let’s see how things are a few months down the road. Getting your troops there is the easy part of asymmetric warfare.
