So in other words, today, the Republicans finally admitted that they feel beholden to no one. They don’t give a shit about their constituents - a majority of Americans oppose the tax bill - they only care about themselves. And they know they can get away with it because, even though the people that vote for them hate the tax bill, they hate Democrats even more. Ah, partisan politics, what thou hast wrought. Fuck our lives.

Then the Democrats need to go after those constituents, and hard. A good dose of antirural populism- “How dare these lazy good-for-nothing rural white people get money to poison American politics!”- should do wonders.
