Imagine that for a moment. Imagine if the Social Security Administration came out tomorrow and announced “We can’t account for $800 million, it just disappeared into the aether and we have no way to track down who spent it or where.” The story would dominate the entire media, the GOP would announce immediate hearings, and millions of Americans would demand an accounting to the penny of that entire $800 million.

But the DoD shrugs their shoulders and says “Fuck if we know” and we just accept it as part of the “price” of defending the nation.
